Statement:
Born in 1961 in Braunschweig, Germany I started ink painting on an autodidactic basis in the mid 80ies, where I soon discovered my disposedness especially to Zen based olden style Japanese sumi-e painting.

In 2008 I started to take sumi-e lessons from Kinsui Kataori, and through this I developed my certain style, combining the classic Japanese art with influences given by my European origin.

The instruments I use to my ideas to life are Japanese and Taiwanese hand made papers and bamboo brushes and China ink.

Over the past years I had several exhibitions and live painting sessions in different museums at my home place Bremen, and through the contacts I built up through my art over the years, I also displayed my art and gave workshops in Japan and Taiwan.
