 My Husband and I have been residents of North Carolina since 2009, was a member of the Village Art Circle in Cary NC.I graduated Cum Laude from Pratt Institute in NYC with a BFA in Graphic Arts and Illustration. I have participated in a special decal design training program with Haviland China and Mathey Beyrand, Limoges, France, attended product training seminars with Disney Studios Burbank CA. Holds a BFA degree with honors from Pratt Institute, I was awarded a Special Study Scholarship, Yale Summer School of Music & Art.For 33 years my husband Jim and I have been product designers and created products for Corning Glass, The Franklin Mint, The Bradford exchange, Waterford Wedgwood USA, DaySpring Cards, (a division of Hallmark Cards), Lenox China, Dansk, and Royal China.20 years ago I became very interested in Chinese Art and the philosophy and reverence to Gods creation that is embedded in the Asian arts. Five years of study combined with Professor Lo and Josephine Tsai in the Art of Chinese Brush Painting, Loretta studied with the late Professor Joseph Lo a renown educator and artist and founder of the Chinese Brush Painters Society in the United Kingdom. I became a student of Josephine Tsai after Professor Lo passed away.I am charter member of "The Chinese Calligraphers and Brush Painters Society of Philadelphia," I have exhibited at the Darlington Fine Arts Center and the Philadelphia Free Library, Gallery Five in Siloam Springs Arkansas, had a one woman show at East of the Bay Gallery, East of the Bay Maryland. I also attended intensive training classes at the China Academy of Art in Hang Zhou, Peoples Republic of China in 2004.
I have given private lessons to individuals in Chinese Brush Painting techniques both in Arkansas and North Carolina. I have conducted a workshops brush painting for the Art and design departments of DaySpring and The Artists League of Sandhills North Carolina and Chambers Arts Interactive Studio in Cary.
